The Story Behind the Name
Back in 1996, Emilio Portilla started out as a bar back at Lava Lounge on Peachtree Street. Over the next twenty years he learned every aspect of the business, including operations, maintenance, and English while working his way up.
His dedication made him the heart of LEAD Hospitality Group. When it came time to launch the company's first Mexican restaurant, they chose to honor Emilio by naming it after him.
Emilio has been involved in everything from menu tastings to décor. Guests are invited to become part of that story.
